The group’s criteria for ranking cities across the country is gauged by how many residents have served or are serving currently in the military. Service to our country is a profound sacrifice, and Prescott is home to more veterans and active duty military personnel than any other city in Arizona, according to the group’s analysis.

A trip to the County Courthouse truly conveys the patriotic message. The approach to the court building is lined with flags. Near the courthouse steps stand two flagpoles, on one pole flies a US flag with 50 stars, and the other displays a flag with 48 stars, depicting Arizona as the 48th state. The All Veterans Memorial on the west side of the plaza honors those Yavapai County servicemen who lost their lives while serving our country.
