With wonderful December weather, historic Victorian architecture, and a whole lineup of festive holiday activities, it is no surprise that Prescott has been labeled “Arizona’s Christmas City.” Prescott Guide invites you to experience Prescott - Arizona's Christmas City.

Festivities
During the winter holidays, Prescott is most well-known for the annual extravagant lighting ceremony at the Yavapai County Courthouse. In this event, more than a hundred trees are sparkling with nearly a million colorful holiday lights. For weeks after the opening ceremony, through the holiday season, stroll around the festive grounds of the beautiful plaza! The lights stay up until mid-January, so you have plenty of time to plan a visit.

Small Town Feel
Prescott, with a population of just 40,000, offers more of a small-town feeling that most of Arizona. Downtown Prescott is famously historic. See the charming old homes and buildings, an abundance of local shops and restaurants. There are dozens of community events spread throughout the season. Prescott is the place in Arizona to celebrate an old-fashioned Christmas!

Don’t forget the “Wild Lights” at Prescott's Heritage Park Zoo. Wild Lights features an attractive array of lights and various holiday and animal-themed wire displays. In addition to enjoying the colorful lights, you will likely see a few animals out!

There is a traditional and festive night every year in Prescott, which features local talented musicians. Granite Dells Prescott is a mile-high city, boasting scenic areas of pine forests, lakes, hills, and interesting rock formations. Granite Dells, just north of Prescott, is perhaps one of the most unique areas, with its lumpy, pink boulders that seem to rise out of the Watson Lake and Willow Lake areas. Peavine Trail winds through the area, named because its shape is that of a pea vine. Granite Mountain Just a short distance to the west, Granite Mountain stands at 7,628 feet and covers approximately 12 square miles.
