Prescott Guide invites you to experience the colorful history of Prescott at the various museums.
Prescott, Arizona has a colorful and exciting history a mile long. Prescott Guide introduces you to some of our finest museums. You can mosey through the Phippen Museum named for Cowboy Artist George Phippen, featuring the art and heritage of the American Southwest, the Gold King Mine, Smoki Museum, and Sharlot Hall Museum.

Gold King Mine Museum
Have you ever been to the well-known, mysterious ghost town of Jerome, Arizona? There you’ll find the Gold King Mine Museum.

What can you expect to see?
You’ll be able to see some fun, old antique vehicles and vintage mining artifacts. Much of the original equipment the miners used to bring Jerome into existence in the early 1920’s is still available to peruse.

Admission between $3 to $5, Children 5 and under are free.

Smoki Museum
A gallery/museum featuring native Southwest cultures, including Native American paintings, rugs, pottery and blankets.

Open Mon-Sat 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday 1-4 p.m.

Admission between $5 to $7. Children 12 and under free.

Sharlot Hall
What can you expect at Sharlot Hall Museum?
Step back in history when you visit Sharlot Hall’s exquisitely-maintained buildings including the Arizona Territorial Governor’s Mansion and the Bashford House, a Victorian treasure that houses the Museum's gift store. It is the only one of Prescott's many Victorian houses that is regularly open to the public.

October through April, open Mon-Sat 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday 12-4 p.m.
May through September, open Mon-Sat 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday 12-4 p.m.

The Phippen Art Museum
An original Cowboy 10 artist, George Phippen is featured at the Museum, along with additional history of the old west. Some of the best Cowboy art around.

Admission $5 to $7, children under 12 are free.

As a center for entertainment, theatre, music and the arts, Prescott’s night life is always spectacular. There is a traditional and festive night every year in Prescott, which features local talented musicians. This event is called “Acker Night.” Prescott Guide discusses the history of Acker Night in Prescott and how it has influenced Prescott’s culture . "All the residue of my estate...I give to the City of Prescott to be used for parks and for promotion of music, particularly for children.” These words were part of the will of Prescott Resident, James S. Of the many outstanding attributes of Prescott, the geological beauty is one of the most notable. Prescott Guide invites you to see for yourself the unique features of Prescott. Granite Dells Prescott is a mile-high city, boasting scenic areas of pine forests, lakes, hills, and interesting rock formations. Granite Dells, just north of Prescott, is perhaps one of the most unique areas, with its lumpy, pink boulders that seem to rise out of the Watson Lake and Willow Lake areas. Peavine Trail winds through the area, named because its shape is that of a pea vine. Granite Mountain Just a short distance to the west, Granite Mountain stands at 7,628 feet and covers approximately 12 square miles.
